I trained, researched, worked, and consulted at Kaiser Permanente, the San Francisco County Jails, Haight-Ashbury Free Clinics, UCSF, A Home Within, and several Bay Area high schools, United Airlines. Additionally, I’ve been practicing psychotherapy since 2003 in my private practice. I offer about 20 years of experience in the magical and transformative world of psychotherapy and self-development.
Life and Executive Coach
I help people from different walks of life to prepare a vision, for themselves or their business. My clients include
C- level executives from start-ups, or Fortune 500 companies, founders, tech geniuses, C and creatives in the Bay Area, and I consult with organizations, and provide training.
Specializing in high-conflict couples, I have worked with hundreds of partners to overcome conflicts and emotional pain. I trained with John and Julie Gottman (pioneers in-science based couples therapy), and my style is as well inspired by Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT), helping couples to re-connect and re-discover newfound respect and love.
As a Trauma Psychotherapist, I integrate traditional (talk) psychotherapy and mindfulness-based mind/body therapy. I am certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing).
With a certificate in Conflict Resolution and Divorce Mediation, I know a few things about the art of negotiation, which I am happy to share with my clients. It's my passion to help individuals, couples, families, and businesses settle and negotiate disputes creatively and successfully. As well, I offer co-parenting mediation.
I have assisted research in the area of Personality Disorders (Narcissism and Borderline PD) for the Fifth Edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM V), and I am about to work with the American Psychiatric Association, on a Quality Measure Development Initiative for mental health practitioners.
Bilingual & Cross-Cultural
As a German native and immigrant who has lived in the Bay Area for more than 20 years, I have a deep understanding and compassion for the unique challenges faced by members of an ex-pat community as well as by those living in multicultural relationships. I provide sessions in English and German.
During these challenging times, I connect with my clients via virtual therapy (Doxy.me) or telephone.
During my free time I practice meditation and yoga, run, ski, adore, and paint palm trees.
I look forward to hearing from you, be it via e-mail or phone.
